This study seeks to compare the incidence of spontaneous preterm delivery in gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) pregnancies versus normal pregnancies. Pregnancy outcomes, alongside the risk factors that contribute to spontaneous preterm delivery, were analyzed. A study employing a retrospective cohort design examined 120 women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and 480 women experiencing normal pregnancies. Women were screened for gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) at their first visit with a 50-g glucose challenge test and a 100-g oral glucose tolerance test, and retested at 24-28 weeks.
